Getting started and thinking big!
“Originally, we were planning on having accounting support as a division of Ambition to primarily service work referred over by our existing teams” says Nick Waterworth, our Co-Founder and Executive Chair.
“We were in the throes of hiring a very talented leader to drive the startup when the idea came that we weren’t thinking big enough and we should have a dedicated brand that we could tweak specifically to the market and really back the leader to grow this new offering.”

20 years of memories
Celebrating 20 years and being named Best Agency in Accounting & Finance in NSW 2024 by Sourcr had Nick Waterworth, founder of the Ambition group, reflecting on some of his highlights of the AccountAbility journey so far.
He talks about some business ones and some fun stuff.
"In the early days we were in a tiny office in Carrington Street, Sydney. We grew much faster than we had predicted and before we could get out of the lease, we sacrificed the boardroom and had consultants sitting round the board table.
It was packed but the atmosphere was electric. Ideas flowed, the energy was incredible, and people were energised to spread the word. “
“One of the things AccountAbility does with our clients is host pub quiz nights. We have tried more formal, business-oriented events but it is the quizzes that get the clients engaged and excited.”
“Opening in Melbourne was a big move and very important as it is obviously a big market, and we were getting asked by clients to service their needs. This team has some fabulous repeat clients, and we service their needs with real skill.”
