AccountAbility are pleased to be working exclusively with a well-known aged care business based in Wynyard who are recruiting for a senior payroll officer on a 6 month fixed term contract.

The role:

This role will be working in a small team of 3 processing fortnightly payroll for up to 900 employees on Ceridian Dayforce, taking a hands-on approach to maintaining and updating employee records,onboardng,terminations, manual processes and resolving queries and issues with village managers. This organisation are in final stages of implementing Ceridian Dayforce and are looking for a candidates with system knowledge who feels confident with end to end processes.

  • Assist with ongoing projects in relation to system/process improvements as required
  • Assist in the payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, salaries, and entitlements in compliance with legislative and award requirements for fortnightly and monthly payrolls for approx. 900 employees
  • Facilitate reconciliation and correction tasks, including processing payroll adjustments as required.
  • Gather feedback and address any payroll enquiries by providing responsive customer service to resolve payroll related issues.
  • Prepare period end or month end reporting for Finance and HR
  • Create accurate and timely records, salary-related reports.
  • Provide support in payroll related services, including preparation of files, forms, registrations, journals, audits, pay slips, invoices and leave to support operations with payroll.

Skills required

  • At least 3+ years' prior experience working in payroll.
  • Advanced Excel skills - pivot tables, lookups, formulas
  • Exposure and understanding of various awards with an ability to ensure compliance with awards and relevant legislation.
  • An understanding of termination calculations including all leave types, superannuation, and eligible termination payments.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Ceridian Dayforce an advantage but not essential.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working both autonomously and as part of a team
